WHAT WE MAKE
People are part
of the evidence.
Secret Evidence is an independent studio developing deductive mystery games.
A lie needs an explanation.
A witness who hides an affair and a witness who hides a murder might give you the same false account. Establishing that it is false does not tell you which secret it protects.
We’re interested in that gap: the work of understanding why a person’s actions make sense to them, and which relationships make one explanation more plausible than another.
Some explanations cannot hold.
A person cannot cross a building faster than the route allows. A witness cannot see through a wall. A lever cannot move a mechanism it is not connected to.
Those limits give the player something firm to work with. A case can then ask harder questions about what the remaining possibilities mean.
The accusation has a cost.
Proving a false alibi can expose an affair. Clearing one suspect can reveal who has been protecting them. The truth about a death can change a family’s understanding of the person they lost.
Murder is central to the mysteries we want to make. So are the lives that continue around it.
